Havana Club White Rum : Our Personal Take

We picked this up as a paired match with the two bottles of Havana Club Anejo Clasico and the Havana Club Anejo Blanco packaged together. We wouldn’t have searched out a bottle of light rum, but it turns out to be a fortuitous accident that is came along for the ride because Havana Club White Rum turned out to be a much better sipping rum than it has any right to be.

We enjoyed the strong scents and flavors of the wood and earthy tones in this bottle. We intended to use it as a mixer but tried it side by side against her darker sister and were delighted at how different the flavors could be. As a sipping rum, Havana Club White Rum stands as an adequate enough drink but especially good when used in contrast against other sippers.

Rum Reviewer’s Final Thoughts

Whether it is the fighting strength of a light rum looking to compete in a rum sipping world dominated by darker rums, or if it’s the proper blend under the Caribbean sun, Havana Club White Rum has a capable punch in its wood-heavy flavors and the smooth sweetness of the subtle fruitiness in the background.
