Bacardi Grand Reserve Diez Rum : Our Personal Take

This rum was a fantastic sipper and we enjoyed it several times over the course of the week. It is super smooth and easily sipped, this is a great rum addition to the Bacardi stable, a bottle you can return to over and over again without being overpowered or turned off. Bacardi Grand Reserve Diez is a good sipping rum but perhaps a bit weakened for what we expected out of this bottle.

Building on the well-earned reputation of the 8-year bottle we regularly sip from, we tried the 10-year with high expectations. Bacardi Grand Reserve Diez does make a slightly marked improvement over the younger bottle, however it is similar enough that for the additional cost we’re more than likely to remain 8-year fans.

Rum Reviewer’s Final Thoughts

If you are coming to Bacardi sipping rums fresh, pick up this bottle and enjoy it. If you are already fans of their 8-year, your previous samplings will probably skew your opinion and likely won’t be impressed enough to switch out to this modestly superior rum. Is this a better rum? Certainly. Is it worth the additional cost? Perhaps.
